John F. Kennedy International Airport · JFK · Queens, New York
JFK Airport Car Service
Opulent Transport provides private black car and chauffeur service to and from John F. Kennedy International Airport, 24 hours a day. Your chauffeur tracks your flight, allows for the time customs takes, and drives you to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut, or New Jersey. Your rate is quoted before you confirm, with no surge pricing.
JFK is New York's main long-haul international gateway, and it is in the middle of a major rebuild. New terminals are opening in phases and airlines are changing buildings, so we check your terminal against your flight number rather than assuming last year's answer still holds.
International Arrivals
From Customs to the Car
A long-haul arrival at JFK has two unknowns: when the aircraft lands, and how long passport control takes after that. We plan for both. International arrivals include 60 minutes of complimentary wait time from landing, and your chauffeur follows your flight from departure.
Meet and greet. Your chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall outside customs with a name sign and helps with your bags. It is the simplest way through a crowded hall, particularly for first-time visitors to New York and guests you are hosting.
Curbside. Message your chauffeur once you have your luggage and come out to the arrivals level. They confirm the door and describe the vehicle, then pull up as you walk out.
JFK Terminals
Separate Buildings, One Loop Road
Every JFK terminal is its own building, and the only links between them are the AirTrain and the Central Terminal Area roads. Delta is based at Terminal 4, JetBlue at Terminal 5, and American at Terminal 8. Many other international airlines are moving as the New Terminal One and Terminal 6 open in stages.
Give us your airline and flight number when you book. We confirm the terminal again on the day, and if it changes, your chauffeur goes to the new one.
Domestic arrivals include 30 minutes of complimentary wait time. You never pay a waiting fee for an airline delay, and the pickup moves with your flight at no charge.
Timing
JFK to Manhattan and Beyond
These are usual ranges outside of peak traffic. The Van Wyck Expressway is the main road out of JFK and often the slowest, so your chauffeur chooses among the Van Wyck, the Belt Parkway, and the Long Island Expressway, and the Midtown Tunnel, Queensboro Bridge, or RFK Bridge, for the hour you are travelling.
- Downtown Brooklyn and Williamsburg: 35 to 60 minutes
- Garden City and Nassau County: 25 to 40 minutes
- LaGuardia Airport: 20 to 35 minutes
- Midtown Manhattan and the Upper East Side: 45 to 75 minutes
- Financial District and Tribeca: 45 to 70 minutes
- Westchester County: 45 to 75 minutes
- Greenwich, Connecticut: 60 to 90 minutes
- Newark Airport and Teterboro: 60 to 90 minutes
- The Hamptons: 2 to 3 hours
Car service to JFK. Leaving Manhattan for an evening flight to Europe puts you on the road at the busiest hour of the day. We schedule your pickup to reach the terminal about three hours before an international flight and two hours before a domestic one, and we allow extra time on Thursday and Friday afternoons in summer, when Long Island traffic is heaviest.
Beyond the Airport
Connections Around New York
Cruise connections. We drive from JFK to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal, the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook, and Cape Liberty in Bayonne, with your luggage handled door to door.
Airport to airport. Connecting between JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark on separate tickets is a common New York problem. A private transfer is the direct way across, and your chauffeur tracks both flights.
Business days. Go straight from the airport into a day of meetings with hourly chauffeur service, or see corporate transportation and black car service in New York City.
Fleet and Rates
Room for Long-Haul Luggage
International trips mean more bags. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class carries up to three passengers. A Cadillac Escalade ESV or Chevrolet Suburban carries up to six with luggage, and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter carries up to fourteen. Tell us your bag count and we will match the vehicle. See the fleet.
Your rate does not change for traffic, weather, or a delayed flight. Gratuity is not mandatory and is at your discretion. Transfers can be cancelled without charge up to 2 hours before pickup; see the cancellation policy. First-time clients can use code RIDE10 for 10% off.
Common Questions
JFK Car Service FAQ
How long does a car service from JFK to Manhattan take?
Usually 45 to 75 minutes to Midtown, depending on the hour. Weekday afternoons are the slowest, and early mornings and late evenings are the quickest.
What if customs at JFK takes longer than expected?
International arrivals include 60 minutes of complimentary wait time from landing. If the line is long, message your chauffeur so they know where you are.
Can you drive me from JFK to the Hamptons or Connecticut?
Yes. We drive to Long Island and the Hamptons, Westchester, Connecticut, and New Jersey. Expect 2 to 3 hours to the Hamptons, and longer on a summer Friday.
Is a JFK black car different from a taxi or rideshare?
You skip the taxi line and the app pickup lot. Your chauffeur is assigned in advance, tracks your flight, and can meet you inside with a name sign. Read more in why New York executives choose a black car over rideshare.
