Drop-Off & Pickup Spots
Your Terminal, Door to Door
PortMiami's cruise terminals are lettered and run in a line along the island: A, AA, B, C, D, E, F, G, J and V. Each cruise line has its usual home. Royal Caribbean sails mainly from Terminal A, Norwegian from Terminal B, Carnival from Terminals D, E and F, MSC from Terminal AA, and Virgin Voyages from Terminal V.
Assignments can change, so we confirm your terminal before your pickup. It is also printed on your cruise documents.
Sailing day. Your chauffeur pulls up at the passenger drop-off in front of your terminal, unloads your bags, and hands them to the porters at the curb.
Return day. Your chauffeur waits in the ground transportation area at your terminal and comes to the exit doors when you message that you have your bags.
Port Procedure
Getting On the Island
Two routes in. The Port Boulevard bridge runs from downtown Miami. The PortMiami Tunnel runs under the bay from the MacArthur Causeway and connects directly to I-395 and I-95, which avoids downtown streets altogether.
Which one we take. From Miami airport, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami Beach, the tunnel is usually faster. From Brickell and downtown hotels, the bridge is closer. Your chauffeur checks both before setting off.
At the terminal. Porters take your tagged bags at the curb. Keep your passport, boarding documents and carry-on with you and walk inside to check in.
Timing
When to Leave, When to Fly
Sailing day. Aim to arrive inside the boarding window on your cruise line's documents. We time your pickup to that window. Late morning and early afternoon are the busiest hours on the island, so we allow extra time then.
Return day. Ships usually dock early in the morning and passengers leave in groups over a few hours. If you are flying home the same day, a flight after midday gives you a comfortable margin. Cruise pickups include 30 minutes of complimentary wait time.
Typical drive times to PortMiami outside of rush hour:
- Downtown Miami and Brickell hotels: about 10 minutes
- South Beach: 15 to 20 minutes
- Miami airport (MIA): 15 to 25 minutes
- Coral Gables and Coconut Grove: 20 to 30 minutes
- Fort Lauderdale airport (FLL): 35 to 50 minutes
- Fort Lauderdale Beach hotels: 45 to 60 minutes

Cruise passengers travel with more bags than most. A Cadillac Escalade ESV or Chevrolet Suburban carries up to six passengers with luggage, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter carries up to fourteen, and a Mercedes-Benz S-Class suits a couple travelling light. Tell us your bag count when you book.
